This is your sign to try bone broth.
Ahh, bone broth - where do I even start?
To be honest I don’t think I have enough space to write just how much I endorse this... but I’ll give it a go.
First things first I’d like to direct EVERYONE to watch this video. It’s the easiest recipe in the world to make and it will save you so much cash. It’s my homemade bone broth recipe and it’s delicious.
I’ve also got a post here where you can read all about the fantastic qualities bone broth has to offer & why you should be having it everyday. Bone broth is something I recommend to all of my clients. I strongly suggest incorporating it in your diet every-damn-day (first thing in the morning is best).
Bone broth is a traditional food that has been consumed for centuries and for good reason. Not only is it delicious and comforting but it is also incredibly nourishing for the body. I believe that introducing bone broth into your diet can provide a variety of health benefits.
One of the key benefits of bone broth is its high collagen content. Collagen is a protein that makes up a significant portion of our skin, hair, nails and joints. As we age (sad face), our bodies produce less collagen, leading to wrinkles, sagging skin, and joint pain (the joys). Consuming bone broth can help to replenish collagen levels, which can improve the appearance of skin, hair and nails and support joint health.
Not only that but bone broth is abundantly rich in minerals, such as calcium, magnesium and phosphorus. These minerals are essential for healthy bone development and maintenance. It also contains glycosaminoglycans (GAGs), which are complex sugars that help to nourish and repair the gut lining. This is beneficial for people with gut issues, such as leaky gut syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, and other digestive problems.
Bone broth is also a great source of amino acids, which are the building blocks of proteins. These amino acids are essential for maintaining and repairing muscle tissue, as well as supporting healthy brain function.
One of the most important amino acids found in bone broth is glycine, which has been shown to help with sleep and anxiety.
Bone broth is SO easy to digest, making it a great option for people with sensitivities or those recovering from an illness.
It's also easy to make at home, which is a cost-effective way to incorporate it into your diet. The traditional way to prepare bone broth is by simmering bones, vegetables, and spices over low heat for an extended period. You can use bones from chicken, beef, pork, or fish. My favourite is beef (as shown in the recipe video).
Overall bone broth is a delicious and nourishing food that can provide a variety of health benefits. Its high collagen and mineral content can support healthy skin, hair, nails, and joints, while its amino acids and GAGs can aid in digestion and overall well-being. Incorporating bone broth into your diet is an easy and cost-effective way to support your health and improve your overall well-being.
